IMPRONTA is a series of works that reproduces a fingerprint on an oversized surface, evoking numerous and diverse associations. Every fingerprint is unique and individual, often metaphorically used as a symbol of identity.
In our highly technological and digitalized society, fingerprints are used in various fields. They serve for personal identification, the protection of sensitive data, and crime investigation in forensic science -to name just a few examples. In short, fingerprint sensors have become an indispensable part of everyday life.
At the same time, they are also used for surveillance and the comprehensive control of individuals. As a result, they pose a significant risk to any society that considers itself a democracy.
